I will try to help come to some conclusion about this quesion.
Can you tell me how many teenage boys have a car. It is almost impossible this day and time to answer that question w/accuracy. We live in a high tech world, and cell phones may be purchased over the counter and used by anyone, including children. They can buy minutes, and use this type phone and there is no record of it's use.
Parent's often give their children a cell phone when they feel there is reason for them to have one, safety is a good reason these days, checking on your child's where a bouts is important.
I can't give you a accurate answer. You may want to choose say, your neighborhood, and count how many homes in your area have children and if the answer is 15 children over the age of 14 yrs old, I would imagine you could assume 1/3 -1/2 will have a phone,
I really hope this helps you..."-)
A child should begin to be able to count to ten around age two. Children can be introduced to numbers about a year before this. However, each child learns to count at a slightly different age.
Buying a phone should not be a problem. Signing a contract for phone services typically requires you to be the age of majority, which I believe is 18 in Australia.

Whenever they want
No unless the child is under the age of 18!! In any state!
you should get your child a cell phone at age ten.
A mobile phone should be given to a child when is 11 or over!
I think a child should defiantly have a cell phone by the time they are in secondary school. Ten or Eleven would be a good age...
I think eleven or twelve is a good age for a cell phone.
I got my phone at the age of 8 but it was only for emergency uses i didn't use my phone until i got this one I'm using now it a samsung tocco lite i had two phone before but if/when you get your child a phone i fully recommend this so i would say to give your child a phone at a age of 10/11 depending on how mature they are. they should certanly need one by secondary or its unsafe and they need to be able to communicate with parents/guardians/friends.
The average age at which kids get a phone of their own is 10 years old, however personally I think they should get one whenever his or her parents thinks that it's time for there child to have one.

when they are mature enough to take care of one and when they can walk home aloit depends.here are a few questions you might want to ask yourself:is the child responsible enough for a cell phone?can you trust the child.
yes
Currently 75 percent of children aged 12 to 17 have a cell phone. There is no one right age to buy a child a cell phone and it is totally dependent on the child and the parent.
It depends on the parent, if i were you i would teach your child responsiblity before you give him the phone, When you think he is responsible enough to use his/her phone. Give it to your child.
Child support is paid to meet the needs of a child. If the child needs a cell phone, yes.
