Middle TN was hunting land for the Cherokee's. The Shawnee's was allowed to come down and hunt this land. When the Shawnee's did not want to leave the Cherokee's had to come and run them out. Hendersonville's first people that I'm aware of are called the Mound People. Then I think it was Cherokee, BUt the Cherokee used this land as Hunting Land only. Then Daniel Smith moved in and settled down, building Rock Castle. Native Americans killed his Son. Attacked his home several times. My short to the point just the facts version of my town.
