The motives for Imperialism in Africa is that Africa was considered primitive and left uncolonized by the Mother Countries. Africa was a battlefield for the Mother Countries for any raw materials, because the Mother Countries were running low of raw materials after the industrial revolution.

What was a purpose of Henry Morgan Stanley's travels in was not a major cause of imperialism in the 1800s?

Henry Morgan Stanley's travels primarily aimed to explore and map uncharted regions of Africa, as well as to locate the missing missionary David Livingstone. While his expeditions contributed to Western knowledge of Africa, they were not a major cause of imperialism in the 1800s. Instead, the era's imperialism was largely driven by economic motives, competition among European powers, and the desire for new markets and resources, rather than exploration alone. Stanley's work did, however, indirectly support imperial ambitions by legitimizing European claims to African territories.

What are the reasons why Europe colonized Asia Africa and the Americans?

Well the continents were not colonized in the same time period, and they have different motives for colonizing. The Old Age of Imperialism was focused on the Americas, after Columbus had made his voyage. The motives for this were purely for resources, trade, power, etc. This time period was between the 1500s and the 1800s. Now the New Age of Imperialism, focused on Asia and Africa, was in the time period of 1700s(Asia)/1800s(Africa)-1900s. The same motives were present as in the Old Age, except there was more. The Europeans had a belief of Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is the belief that only the strong will survive. The Europeans saw themselves as superior to the Asians and Africans and thus colonized their land.
