Changes in weather patterns or in land use can affect desert biomes.
Dry desert climates are formed by high-pressure zones in which cold air masses descend then warm. But heat from the ground evaporates the water again before it can come down as rain. The ground is usually hot from the Sun's rays as these are not attenuated by cloud cover.
Pollution of the reduced water supply, or using the water for farming, are both activities that can put pressure on the plant and animal life in the desert.
one issue of a dessert can be that it is extremely hot and is not fit for humans to live without food or water in anymore than 1, maximum 2 days. it also makes you hallucinate so you think you see water but you when you get there you snap back into reality. this only happens in extreme hot circumstances. you also have to wear a hat or some kind of protector otherwise you can sufferer from severe burns or skin cancer later on in life if the sun rays are beating down on your head for too long.
there is no scientific information in this, i just thought of it on the spot..... still true tho
One problem that there is in deserts are lack of rain/precipitation. ☺
DEHYDRATION from too much heat and not enough water is the most immediate problem.
Drinking alcohol can speed up the process of dehydration and lead to serious health issues.

Too many people are not educated in environmental issues and look at the desert as a wasteland. They feel there is nothing to damage or destroy so run their off road vehicles over the fragile desert lands, destroying plants and animals as well as making the area much more susceptible to erosion and flash flooding,

We had a dear friend who suffered with problems for years after his return from Desert Storm. He finally requested a civilian referral and was diagnosed with MS. The civilian physician told him the chemicals from DS are probably what caused his condition. Our friend called everybody who was over there with him to look for signs of future health issues. Why the military refused to acknowlege these issues after soldiers returned perplexes me unless it was all about money!
