The minors parents need to give the adult sibling with whom the minor is going to live a notarized document containing all pertinent information. It should have the date when the arrangement begins and the approximate date it ends if it is before the minor reaches the legal age of majority (18). It should give the adult sibling the authority to enroll the minor in school, obtain medical and dental procedures, state the financial arrangements (if any) and so forth. The parents are legally obligated to remain in contact with the minor and the minor's adult caregiver on a regular basis.
