Olaudah Equiano wrote a book about the Slave Trade, about his experiences during his time in it. When he was finally freed, he published his book, and of course, people were finally educated about how bad the Slave Trade really was. The book wasn't the most pleasant, it went into graphic depth of what happened on slave ships. With his memoir published, Equiano had turned quite a profit. He didn't exactly free slaves though. He bought slaves, he owned them and treated them like family, but they were never actually freed. They were taken out of hard labor, but they weren't entirely free either.
