S America is well known as one of the top producers of he coca plant. Its mountanous egions offer the high altitude and sunny mountaintop exposure ideal for the propogation of this plant. These factors along with powerful drug cartels, warlords, poverty, and vast jungle offering cover from fly overs make s. America one of the the worlds top coca producers. the coca grown is then extracted in a quickly assembled makeshift loboratory dep in the jungles and heavily guarded. Using easiy acquired chemicals , the cocaine is exracted from the coca and turned into cocaine hcl, which is the powdery white substance that the world has come to know.
