It could be a bad file. Try re-downloading the file.
read the instruction manual or just go to media player, press the sync, plug in your mp3 player, and drag songs to the side of the "sync list" then press sync...
depending on how many pictures you have, i know you can roughly get 750 songs on a 4g player without pictures, with pictures you can probably have about 500-600 songs, remember some song files are bigger than others, same thing with pictures

The songs are on the drive, not the MP3 player. If you unplug the drive the MP3 player won't see the songs.

it shouldnt. it is a digital file. its probably your mp3 player or headphones/speakers causing the problem. possible the decompressor software in your mp3 player is faulty but ive never heard of this problem. just a guess.
