open sky policy is that the sky is not limited to regional or national carriers alone. International players are also welcome to operate in India. The examples of the open sky policy are Virgin Atlantic , Lufthansa etc flying in to Delhi..But we are yet to open the skies to the major players as the govt is allowing a restricted opening policy to favour the loss ridden National Carrier
