Rhodan- do not confuse with the Perry Rhodan s/f novels, was a giant bird-llike dinosaur creature in Japanese monster films. He was drawn more bird-lilke in the wing area than the more bat-formed pterodactyls. Perry Rhodan is a serial character in Science Fiction novels about the so-called Third Power. War oriented , but not monster-battling. They were edited b y Forrest J. Ackermann of RFamous Monsters magazine, but have no connection with the monster called Rhodan, also spelled Rodan. No known prehistoric creature bears this name there was the Pterandon , the larger variety of flying reptile. Itis a big stretch from pterandon to rhodan!

∙ 15y agoThe movie is The Neverending Story (1984). The huge flying dog type thing is Falkor, and he is a luckdragon. The boy is Atreyu, and he is on a quest to the Southern Oracle so that he can find out how to stop The Nothing from covering the world.
