i am an alumni of IIT- Kanpur (electronics and instrumentation ). I'm now in imperial college , London pursuing my MEng in Artificial Intelligence . well basically , there is NO difference between instrumentation and mechatronics . in India , institutes like the IIT's and BITS , NIT's and the VTU affiliated institutes call it instrumentation tech . some prestigious institutes affiliated to Anna university call it mechatronics . other deemed , private and under achieving universities like manipal , srm etc call it mechatronics . regarding the scope of instrumentation , there is not much scope for instrumentation there in India . but here in the UK and other countries like the US , Germany etc , the scope is intense . so for all those who might tend to give it a second thought , please don't . the scope is just too good .
The term engineering means "to design something to resolve a problem" (no matter the type of problem). Electronics and Telecommunication engineering could very well mean "the design of components to further the advancement of technology" while electronics and communication would mean "the study of current technology and how to use it" Electronics communication is the art of transferring DATA from one device to another such as computer networks operating on a hub in some office. Telecommunication is the art of using telephones lines or other media to transfer DATA. Both require different design criteria even thought very similar in nature. Engineering is a word to describe the process of designing one art or the other.

Typically, the occupational associates is designed to give the student all the expertise necessary to enter the workforce in entry level positions immediately after completion of the degree. The engineering associates is designed for transfer to a four year college or university for the bachelor's degree. However, it depends on the institution their approach and intent particular to each degree.
in electronics we use DC current but in elctrical equipment we use AC current
It is a pronoun and electronics is a verb. Actually IT stands for information technology. IT includes stuff like managing servers and stuff like that. Electronics is more about making electrical items. (like a cell phone)

Electrical engineering deals with electrical lines, transformers, circuit breakers, power transmission , generation and distribution. Instrumentation engineering is a sub branch of electrical engg. but we can say that Instrumentation engg. is mixture of electrical, mechanical(somewhat), electronics, computer(somehow)..... Instrumentation deals with sensors, transducers, analog and digital controllers, automation etc... so main difference between Instru and Electrical is, Instru. for making plant Automatic and electrical for making plant powered with electricity ....
Electronics & communication engg (ECE) is a department which contains basic & advanced electronics subjects and also communication subjects (like tv, radio,phone,computer,etc ) Electronics & Instrumentation Engg (EIE) is also a another engineering department which contains the same subjects of basic & advanced electronics and also electronic instruments basic & advanced (like CRO,transducers,all kinds of meters , gauges ,etc)
Electrical engineering is low voltage, logic circuits, communications etc. Power engineering is electrical transmission and the like.You want EE.
mechatronics is the integratiom of mechanical , elctric and control engineering along with computer to acheve the optimum efficiency . electromechanics is based on devices which carry out electrical operations by using moving parts like switches -relays - solenoids and it doesn't include either control or computer engineering
The difference between computer engineering and digital electronics is that digital electronics represents signals. Computer engineering integrates several fields of computer science and electrical engineering to make computer systems. Digital electronics is the field of computers and computer controlled devices including the ones with analog inputs and outputs.
According to me both engineering are best at their own field with a little difference between these, basically electronics deals with completely electrons motion & their effect, designing IC's, but at other sight Electronics & Communication include electronics features as well as communication part which is the most important part of our life Today... There are several ways to differentiate it bur the most basic difference is that in electrical engineering we deal with flow of electrons, while in electronic engineering we deal with transfer of electrons(through holes).
