The largest amount of money is difficult to say; some players have become multimillionaires through Poker alone. For example; main event WSOP winners take home over 9 million dollars. The top poker players have been known to net up to 30 million a year playing poker.

A group of poker pros called The Corporation pooled their money together in order to play a game against a billionaire Poker enthusiast named Andy Beal. With a game so big, the blinds were at $50,000 - $100,000. A notable win was when Phil Ivey (one of the best professional Poker players in the world) had a 3 day session vs Beal in which he netted $16.6 million dollars for The Corporation.

The biggest televised pot was between Tom Dwan and Barry Greenstein on High Stakes Poker. Dwan had KQ of Spades vs Barry's pocket aces. The flop came 42Q with 2 spades meaning Dwan held top pair + a flush draw vs Barry's aces which essentially made it a coinflip onwards. Both players moved all in on the flop for a massive $920,000 pot and Dwan hit his queen and the river was a 7 of diamonds which was no help to Barry.

Although there have been bigger then 920k pots on High Stakes Poker, the players usually agree to run the flop several times, for example in a 1 million dollar pot they run 4 different flops to remove luck / variance from the equation. The 2 players opted not to, hence why its the biggest individual pot in the history of televised poker.
