∙ 15y agoA question that cannot be answered with any certainly because it covers - box-office sales, black-market sales, collectors via auction houses and private sales and 'expensive' relative to the time of sale etc. All records covering these, and possibly more, would need to be checked. Even checking the box-office sales for the world would be a huge task.

∙ 14y agoMovies are usually listed by dollars earned meaning newer movies appear to break records alot. But the record for most tickets sold is still held by Gone with the Wind(1939). At todays ticket prices it would have earned and estimated 1.4 Billion dollars.
