Its "Dressed to Kill" made in 1979 starring Michael Caine/Angie Dickinson. The nurse scene is at the end (the Nurse was played by Anneka DeLorenzo). She is working the shift at Bellvue in the dim dark corridors at night. Approaches the sleeping Michael Caine (who has been committed) thinking he is sedated. Starts to tuck him in (but its a trap). He springs to life and strangles her to death after a fierce struggle. He then deprives the dead nurse of her uniform exposing her underwear to the cheering galleries of crazies above and around the ward. Its available on DVD or Bluray. Check EBAY

Crazies is a remake from an early seventies film, this book seems to be similar to the movie.
the crazies
It is a great movie, you'd think it's your typical zombies movie but it has a realistic spin that seems believable and not exaggerated. It's and intense thriller and horror that keeps you on the edge of your seat and you never know what might happen next, the antagonists (the crazies) are unpredictable and violent in a manner you wouldn't see in zombies. I thought it was great, maybe not child appropriate due to the gore, but it was great...
