Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP)

===========================

The names of the legislatures at the provincial level of government in Canada display a considerable variation. The most common is "Legislative Assembly" and the politicians elected to them are called "Members of the Legislative Assembly" or MLAs. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia employ this designation.

In the three territories (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) the term is also "Legislative Assembly."

In Ontario, however, the legislature is called the "Provincial Parliament," in Québec it is the "National Assembly," and in Newfoundland and Labrador, it is the "House of Assembly." The elected members in those provinces are called MPPs, MNAs, and MHAs accordingly.

Do the Canadian citizens vote directly for the cabinet?

In fact, the US President is not directly elected by the US voters. The US voters choose, often indirectly, the members of the Electoral College, who in turn choose the President. On more than one occasion, this has resulted in a President who received fewer votes than did his opponent.In Canada, with a parliamentary form of government, the voters elect a parliament rather than a government. The government is then usually formed by the leader of the political party that elected the largest number of members to the House of Commons.

What type of government does Yukon Canada have?

The government in Canada is a constitutional monarchy that is also a parliamentary democracy and a federation. Nunavut is a federal territory, which means that, unlike provinces, it is an administrative division of the federal government. Despite this, it has a fairly significant degree of self government. In Nunavut, there is a chief executive appointed by the federal government called the Commissioner, whose role is largely symbolic. The head of the government is the Premier, who is chosen by and from the elected Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The assembly is composed of 19 members serving 4-year terms of office, and representing a total of about 33,000 constituents, many belonging to the scattered Inuit tribes. There are no political parties.
