There is no "normal temperature" for all of Africa. Straddling the equator, its average temperature range would be warmer than for Europe. But temperatures vary greatly by location, elevation, month, and time of day. The lowest temperatures (0° and below) are found in nighttime deserts and on the slopes of mountains (such as Mount Kilimanjaro). The warmest temperatures (50°C) are daytime temperatures in the north African desert. But rainforest temperatures are also in the range of 30° to 35°C.
