What science do you need to be a psychologist?

It depends on what you want to do. You can do somethings with a Bachelor's Degree (such as become a social worker), but you might really want to consider going on to graduate school and getting at least your Master's Degree. You'll need a Master's Degree to be able to become a licensed psychologist. You can even go on to get your Ph.D or Psy.D if you'd like.

You will need to complete an undergraduate degree in which you major in Psychology. You will follow a set module pathway through your degree in order to qualify for registration of the Psychological regulatory body for your country (British or American Psychological Society).

During your first degree you will need to look for suitable work experience in order to rack up the amount you will need in order to get onto a masters.

After completing your first degree with first class honours (it is almost impossible to go any further in Psychology with anything less), a masters is required.

Once you complete graduate school (masters), a doctorate is required.

You will need substantial work experience, although if you intend to work in any healthcare field, your doctorate will usually entail a one year internship in a suitable area of practise. You will also need dedication and motivation. Psychological training on average takes 7 - 10 years, and the very highest standards are required.

It is possible to complete professional training through a specialist academies instead of university, but this is increasingly expensive. If you choose this path, ensure that the final qualification is accredited with the regulatory body for your country.

None. In order to become a psychologist, an undergraduate degree in psychology (or sociology) is customary, followed by a master's (2 yrs) or doctoral (5 yrs) program in psychology.

However, in order to become a psychiatrist, an undergraduate degree is needed, with premedical curriculum requirements of 1 year of calculus, 2 years of chemistry (one year of general chem and one year of organic chem), 1 year of physics, and 1 year of Biology; with a bachelor's degree in college then followed by 4 years of medical school (for an M.D. or D.O. degree); then followed by 4 years of residency training in the field of psychiatry (including psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, management of hospital patients in both the general hospital and psychiatric units, and administrative management).
