He discovered the North West Passage. Of course that little bit of information did not help him as he did not get to report it. Even when it was reported it was not understood that the route he wanted to take could have gotten him all the way to Asia. At least we named a nice Bay after him and he is still there, somewhere. I'll take another look for him on my next visit but only if I can trust my crew to not leave me floating in my dingy.

Henry Hudson who discovered New York and lent his name to the Hudson Bay made a very important voyage. The importance stemmed from the fact that he discovered the North West passage.
