The antagonist in the movie Star Wars (now known as Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope) is Darth Vader. Throughout all six Star Wars films, the main antagonist is Darth Sidious (also known as Senator/Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine), though the audience is unaware of this in Episode IV as he is only mentioned in passing. In The Phantom Menace, Sidious gets the Trade Federation to blockade the planet Naboo, simultaneously sowing seeds of distrust between the Federation and the Republic and inciting a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum (the head of the Senate). He is then voted in as the new chancellor. In Attack of the Clones, he starts the Clone Wars by secretly supporting the Confederacy of Independent Systems and arranging for a clone army to be bred for the Republic. In Revenge of the Sith, he gains more and more emergency powers as the Clone Wars rage on and eventually declares himself Emperor. Taking advantage of Anakin Skywalker's trust in him, he exploits the young Jedi's fears of losing his wife Padme and manipulates him into betraying his Order and becoming Darth Vader. Sidious also issues Order 66, which called for the clone army to turn on their Jedi generals, even going so far as to kill Jedi children.Sidious does not appear in A New Hope, but his apprentice, Darth Vader, destroys a planet full of people. In The Empire Strikes Back, Sidious warns his apprentice Vader that Luke Skywalker is becoming more powerful. In Return of the Jedi, Sidious nearly kills Luke Skywalker with Force lightning when he refuses to turn to the Dark Side of the Force; Vader turns on him and kills him. Many other atrocities are committed by and in the name of Darth Sidious in the Star Wars expanded universe.
Chancellor Palpatine, also known as the Emperor and Darth Sidious, was the chancellor of the Republic until the Clone Wars came to an end and he manipulated the Senate into creating and supporting the Galactic Empire. He's also the one who's responsible for manipulating Anakin Skywalker into joining the dark side, therefore becoming Darth Vader
No, in the novel Palpatine ordered the clones to destroy the Senate Building and was told that there was no way that Yoda could have survived. However, in the Return Of The Jedi novel, it says that Palpatine tapped into Lukes thoughts and discovered that Yoda had somehow managed to survive the Jedi Extermination and helped Obiwan train Luke.
Darth Caden was the born son of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo. I think you mean Darth Caedus, formerly Jacen Solo, but after him in the Legacy comics comes Darth Krayt, who is killed by Darth Wyyrlok in 137 ABY, who then continues the One Sith Order that was created by Krayt. No Darth Vader won sidious by a bit after he killed sidious he turned good
In 218 BC Hannibal invaded Italy, but did not attack Rome because the lost his siege machine while crossing the Alps in the snowy winter. Without these he could not attack a city the size of Rome. After Routing the Romans and their allies three times, his campaign lingered in southern Italy and then came to a dead end.
Darth Sidious is known to the majority of the galaxy as Emperor Palpatine. Before he became the emperor he was a senator from Naboo, so he was known as Senator Palpatine. When he ascended to the chancellorship of the Senate, he became known as Chancellor Palpatine.
The senate could not do much to avoid the 12 civil wars in the Late Roman Republic. It could not stop strong military commanders who had the loyalty of their troops from fighting each other. Moreover, in the first few of these wars, it sided with one of the fighting factions, that of the conservative commander. In one of them, the senate was actually one of the fighting forces. This was Caesar's civil war against the forces of the senate. The Liberators' Civil War was fought between supporters of the senate and supporters of the assassinated Julius Caesar.

Well, The main bad guys are called THE EMPIRE and they are led by an EMPEROR. In the prequel trilogy, the love interest for Anakin Skywalker is a SENATOR in a SENATE for a REPUBLIC. Also in Attack Of The Clones, Anakin, Obi Wan and Padme have to fight for their lives in an arena which reminds me of the Gladiatorial Colosseum. Other than those, there are loads. I can't think of them all but they are the ones that sprang to mind.
Octavian was not really fighting against Cleopatra, he was fighting against Marc Antony in a power struggle. Cleopatra was the tool that Octavian used to get the senate to declare war. Even though the war was declared against Cleo, in order to avert the connotation "civil war", everyone knew it was actually against Antony.Octavian was not really fighting against Cleopatra, he was fighting against Marc Antony in a power struggle.
