This jingle won first prize — $3,440.64, a Ford Mustang, a trip to Switzerland and two watches — in the Dr. Pepper “Time of Your Life” contest and kept the family from being dispossessed: The “time of your life” you can win With Dr. Pepper, the flavor that's in. It's distinctive and bright, It's lively and light. There's no time like NOW to begin!
Dr Pepper started out in 1885 with the slogan Phos-Ferrates. I'm pretty sure that's latin, although I haven't had any luck translating it.
Such was Woodrow Wilson's winning slogan in 1916.
In 1955, the LAPD formed a contest to give its Police Academy a motto. Officer Joseph S. Dorobek submitted the winning entry, "To Protect and to Serve." In 1963, the City voted to adopt the slogan for the LAPD, and so adorned it's Headquarters Building and its radio cars with the slogan. Susbequently, many Police Departments nationwide have incorporated the venerable saying into their own police oaths of office. However, many invert the order of the words 'protect' and 'serve.'
Go the whole nine yards?
The United Nations has the consistent slogan of " Peace and Security." However, the water division of UN Water has a slogan contest every year. The slogan for 2013 was "International Year of Water Cooperation."
Be a pepper.

Clean and Clear, Under Control ;)
Nora Riordan wrote the slogan "Fresh as a Flower in Just One Hour." In the 50s the company "One Hour Martinizing" in Jersey City, NJ, ran a slogan contest for their company. They promised a car to the winner. Nora Riordan entered this contest with her slogan. Although the slogan was placed across the entire ceiling of the dry cleaners, the company stated she did not win the contest and gave her a set of knives. The slogan became nationwide after the franchises grew to over 1000 sites. This dry cleaning company did not smell as well as they claimed. This is another example of corporate greed and dishonesty.
Capitol One hosted a contest back in 2011 on what their slogan should be. For a short time, they used the slogan "What happens here, stays here." Afterwords, they decided on the slogan "What's in your wallet," where it has become quite popular because of the cutesy commercials with a young child.
Group first, brand second, both winning
