In Knight Rider 2000 the Knight 4000 was an unspecified make and model, but the equipment later had to be put into a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Aire.

In the 1994 movie Knight Rider 2010, the car is a custom build.. although called a Mustang, it's actually built on a Thunderbird chassis.

KITT as shown in the 2008 movie and TV series is a ridiculous looking 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT5000, decked out to look like some ricer kid's car.
