The real name of Akbar's eldest son was Nur-ud-din Muhammad Salim. After the death of Akbar, he ascended the throne with the title Jahangir (1605-1627)

Later, Mahabat Khan, one of his generals, also rebelled against Jahangir, but Nur Jahan successfully suppressed Mahabat's revolt. After the death of Jahangir Shah Jahan ascended the throne after defeating Shahryar. Thus Nur Jahan lost her power and influence.
