you can hack the items in, but nothing will happen, the only way is to hack the Pokemon into your box directly

No one knows yet. It's likely they will since it's not a 'big' event like say Darkrai, Shaymin or Arceus are but I guess we'll know if they ever decide to do it.

There is one event and you have to have an arceus but you can only get one of them and they are level 1. It is the Arceus Event.

Special Nintendo events are events that happen in real life across the country at certain dates. You can find the dates listed on pokemon.com. They typically happen in big cities. At these events, one will be able to receive special items or Pokemon [such as Mew, or Oak's Letter, which allows one to catch Shaymin].
How do you get missed legit Pokemon events?
Sadly, there is no other way unless another event happens or you cheat your way through it. As far as i know, the Pokemon events for Diamond and Pearl have already passed. Events are occurring at the moment for Platinum version however. The event for Darkrai will last from August 3rd 2009 until September 13th 2009 through Wi-Fi. I have also heard an event for Shaymin will happen once again for Platinum players at Toys-R-Us sometime in mid-October.
Can you catch Darkrai in regular gameplay?
No, but special events occur every once in a while on Nintendo wi-fi, which can be acessed on the DS. Websites like serebii.net or pokefarm will tell you when these things happen. :)
What are all the event items in Pokemon diamond and what do they do?
there is oak's letter, member pass, and the azure flute. You have to go to special Pokemon events in target, kmart ect. o receive via mystery gift. The oaks letter is used like this: In victory road you will find a secret passage to a route covered in flowers. You will find a rock. If you have the letter the rock will ask you who u would like 2 thank. say Pokemon. things will happen, a shaymin will run down this long path. Then you run up that path and catch shaymin. the members pass is used in canalave city where you will find a locked house. If you have the pass, it will let you in and some man will take you to an island where Darkrai is. The azure flute is used when u go to spear pillar again, and there will be a carving of a flute in the ground. the game will ask u to use the flute. Use the flute and a stairway will appear. There will be arceus.
