This is a very rare wheat penny, and when looking to purchase you want to ensure it is a legitimate coin and from a trusted source. I would recommend a search on eBay. When you utilize eBay, you can consider using a service, such as PayPal, to process the payment, so you have buyer protection. If you are unable to locate the coin on eBay, you can consider a local coin shop which can be researched online, and in many cases, they may have a website for your search to yield results.
The value of coins is very dependent on the condition. 1909 D VDB and P VDB Lincoln pennies are worth from about $2 not so good condition to about $20 for excellent (almost mint) condition. The rare coin is the S VDB. It is worth from about $1000 to $2500. The S, indicating it was made in San Francisco, is just below the date. If it's an S you've won the jackpot.

Like all Phila. coins before 1979/80 (except for "war nickels") they do not have a mint mark. 1909-S VDB cents were struck in San Francisco and have a small S under the date. These are much rarer and retail for $900 to $1500 depending on condition.

I'm assuming your question refers to 1909 Lincoln cents minted at Philadelphia and with VDB on the reverse side. According to PCGS, mintage figures for all 1909 Lincoln cents are: 1909 VDB: 27,995,000 1909-S VDB: 484,000 1909: 72,700,000 1909-S: 1,825,000 Remember that Philadelphia didn't (and doesn't) put a mint mark on cents so there technically isn't a "P" cent, and all cents minted since 1918 have Victor D. Brenner's initials on them.
A penny that is 1909 VDB could get up to around $5. The reason is because a penny that is 1909 VDB has 28 million pennies minted.
