i got tamu for Christmas back in 1968 or 1969 as a little girl. unfortunately the next day my aunt pulled her ring so hard that it broke and her talking string recoiled right into her body. i had never been so heartbroken. i loved her so much for the 1 1/2 days that i had her. my aunt promised to get me another but she never did. every year since i would mourn for tamu at Christmas time. then 3 years ago my brother handed me a box while our family was opening Christmas gifts. my brother doesnt always give the best gifts so i just let the box sit there for awhile. when he finally got me to open the box, i partially unwrapped it and peeked inside. there was my beloved tamu peeking back at me. i began to sob uncontrollably (tears are streaming down my face as i type this). i was afraid to touch her. my brother coaxed me to take her out of box and to pull her string. i was so afraid to pull her string due to the trauma i'd experienced when my first tamu lost her voice. when i finally heard her sweet voice again i cried all over again. i still love her sooooo much, but can only bring myself to pull her string a few times a year. MY one and only big brother found tamu on the internet. her speech was garbled when her string was pulled. he sent her to a doll hospital in Texas and they were able to make her speak again. he had someone else make her a dress (she was nekkid). i have no idea how he paid to bring her to me but i am so happy he did. hopefully you will find her oneday.
