Because we are afraid to communicate honestly at all, and would rather avoid and re-bury all conflict and call that "problem-solving". This is country of oppressed "children" who think they are better than everyone else. I hate this about Canada, as I prefer direct communication. I am so sick of how most Canadians want to, worse, expect to be happy, i.e. control things as they want without talking about anything that might be a problem in that. It is why we don't see how DEEPLY racist we are either. This country is full of people afraid to communicate honestly from a place of vulnerability, from a place where one values sharing meanings well FIRST, before resolving problems (so we act as if we solve problem, but all we really do is re-bury them, over and over), who oppress (because they are threatened by) anything colourful or not normal, it is a really bad nation-wide trait and is not getting better. Very uptight and small minded white colonial country still; don't believe the unearned reputation we get, it is a lie! Those Canadians who got that rep for being nice were simply reacting to not having to deal with the constant passive-aggresiveness they were used to at home; international Canadians are not how the ones that never leave actually are (no "real" Canandian would ever risk leaving their home town, let alone Canada, lol). Seriously, a country of terrible communicators.
