The colonies (Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick) put aside differences and created a new country because it would benefit them. They would have greater population which increases the money; we would get richer. if we are richer we can get the things we need for this country and the people. most of all it is because we needed greater defense. if they didn't decide that we should be a country than we would be a part of U.S now. If we didn't become one country than U.S would attack and try to get our land one by one. One of the other reasons is because of our defense for our colonies. if we are still little colonies than of course people would take our land because of low defense. we need defense to protect and keep our land.
