(This is just to add on to it.) We were one of the first nations to engage in war. Despite our current peaceful attitude, The fact of the matter is we were one of the main allied nations. The idiots in America say that we did nothing which is stupid to me. We sent men to Europe to fight before war was even a word on the people of Americas lips. We helped out Britain as soon as war broke out, and the US sat on their lazy butts and did nothing until Japan attacked them. Now I am sorry if I insulted anyone who is American, but I find it very frustrating that many Americans think we did nothing. I am not saying the USA did not contribute, in fact they beat Japan and helped us defeat Germany. Without them we certainly would have lost. Canadian troops at that time, and today were, and are some of the best trained troops in the world. I do not know why we are not recognized that way. For instance the black devil squad was made up of mainly Canadians, and some Americans. They never lost a single battle during the war. If you do not believe me look it up. We also ensured that the invasion of Normandy was successful. Canadian troops fought on Juno Beach, a very crucial beach and also the second best fortified. If we had lost that fight, the invasion of Normandy could have very well failed. So for anyone who says we Canadians did nothing, you need to be quiet. Ask anyone in Europe or Canada, and they would disagree. Next time you say we Canadians did nothing look back at what you Americans did. You did nothing! You just sat there and wanted no part in the war and did not bother to do anything other than send supplies until 1941 after Pearl Harbor. So I am sorry if I insulted any Americans during my rant, but the fact of the matter is, we were a major world power, and even today we remain a major influence around the world.
