It is common for companies to change their name to adapt to the culture or to the customs of a particular country. In India, undoubtedly the Church's Chicken executives thought the idea of Texas as a place for cowboys and the wild west might be a well-known image, so they decided to use Texas in their name, rather than using "Church"-- most Indians are either Hindu or Muslim and might think the fast-food restaurant was a religious establishment instead of a place to get fried chicken.
