Practically the answer is your question. The natives' should get there land because both the parties agreed to sign the treaties in order to get something in return. In the natives' case, one thing was the land that THEY lived on orignally. The Canadian government (European at that time) came to THEIR country where they were already established and said "OK, we're going to come in here, take your land, but we'll be 'nice' and let you keep some of your things." Native means 'being in the place or enviornment that you were born in' and they were their first and they deserve the land that was agreed upon. 'Cause the European jerks though they were better so they took the Native's land. That's why.

The US response to help out after the Sand Creek massacre was writing a new treaty that offered the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes other reservations. As with previous treaties federal officials did not enforce its provisions. None of the tribes ever received the land they were promised. When the US Civil War ended, it became clear that Native Tribes were in the way of US plans to settle the West. This would work out badly over the next 25 years for Native Americans.
The settlers ignored treaties with Native Americans.
By 1850 some 75,000 native americans lived on the plains. The u.s government promised to pay for any damages to indian lands.
Some was given to the settelers, some was purchased or taken by treaties that were either unfairly crafted, but most was taken without any form of compensation.
No; beginning in 1870 through 1935 the US Government abrogated (violated) all treaties ever signed with Native American's by acts of the legislature. This abrogation returned all land ownership to Native American tribes although the US Government refuses to vacate the lands taken under those treaties.
Native Americans
Every treaty.
All the treaties"fell apart" because the US government failed to honor them or to enforce them.
dont you mean aboriginals? anyways it was a numbered land treaties which promised education, medicine, medicine chests, tools, reserves, and payments in exchange for land, these treaty agreements were to last forever

The United States government supported this, in that they set up reservation for the Native Americans. They then bought the land from them and promised to protect them. The US government also wrote and signed many treaties to help the Native Americans. Sadly though this didnt last long. Because the settlers wanted the Native Americans land. This caused the Native Americans to fight back. They were fighting not only for their land, but for their resources. But mostly in order to keep their traditions. Thanks I hope that helps!

It recommended that the U.S. government no longer sign treaties with Native Americans.

It wasn't a state, but the government. Eventually they did recognize the Native American tribes as independent nations and made treaties with them. Often, though, the treaties were broken by the government.
