What are the reasons why Europe colonized Asia Africa and the Americans?

Well the continents were not colonized in the same time period, and they have different motives for colonizing. The Old Age of Imperialism was focused on the Americas, after Columbus had made his voyage. The motives for this were purely for resources, trade, power, etc. This time period was between the 1500s and the 1800s. Now the New Age of Imperialism, focused on Asia and Africa, was in the time period of 1700s(Asia)/1800s(Africa)-1900s. The same motives were present as in the Old Age, except there was more. The Europeans had a belief of Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is the belief that only the strong will survive. The Europeans saw themselves as superior to the Asians and Africans and thus colonized their land.

How was it possible that a continent the size of Africa was taken over so easily and quickly by European nations?

Technological advantage. Europeans were better at metal working and had Guns. Africa back then didn't really have nations, but tribes. And these were quite happy to fight internally too. Meaning the Europeans rarely met any big organized resistance.

Is there an official national dish in South Africa?

I'm not sure about national dishes, although i do know the Potjiekos is very popular in South Africa. Since Africa is colonized by the Europeans, so many dishes are kind of like European traditions. The Potjiekos is a small pot stew with meat, broccoli, potatoes, and carrot. Curried foods with or without rice, and sausages are also quite popular there too.

How long did Great Britain colonize Africa?

depends on the country. it started in the late nineteenth century (1800's) and most countries were independent by 1960ish. so its probably around 60 to 80 years for the vast majority of countries. some countries have been independent now for about as long as they were colonized. Europeans did live in Africa for a while before colonialism.
