I could be a bad wrist pin. They will sound just like a rod. Try letting it idle and pulling the plug wires one at a time. When you hit the one that has a problem the noise will go away or almost away. Then you can take that rod cap off and check it for a spun bearing.

Ohio does not consider a seat belt violation to be a moving offense so they do not assess points on them. Seat belt fines for drivers is a $30 fine, and for passengers it is a $20 fine in Ohio.
What you hear is lifter noise, its pretty normal. At start up there is no oil in the top end of the engine so the unlubricated valve system will make noise until the oil can reach it. The valves may or may not need adjusting, Hydraulic lifters require oil pressure to take up the slack and if the noise does not persist after oil pressure is obtained then most likely not. Some oil treatment and more frequent oil changes may make the tick stop completely.
wheel bearings are not threaded, the beaing races are smooth as is the axle and hub where the bearings fit
I own a 1990 Geo metro. Around town it was fine, but at Highway speeds there was an awful roaring sound. what I discovered was that the rear wheel ball bearings grease had dried out and the bearings were making the noise. I replaced them with a new set from the parts store and the noise has not returned.
did you disassemble the engine to determine the rod condition? some harmonic balancers will make a knocking sound when they go bad
it definitely sounds like the intake bearings..... you should get that looked at
I have a screeching sound in my pick up when it gets up to 2000 rpms. Does not make the noise while idling and starts fine.
There will be a disticnt noise when you push in the clutch! litsen carefully as it is easy to mistake the noise for something else! Anyways push it in and out and listen for any changes in sound!if no changes in sound i would be lead to assume that your bearings are fine!
Turn the car left & right to see if it knocks... do it both with the throttle. if it doesn't knock during a coast or idle, you're fine, and if it knocks when you accelarate, you're still not TOO lethal... spend 80 bucks, get yourself a new pair of axles, as this knock is the sound of the bearings going out. your engine is fine!
could be the fuel pump...or the alternator...:)
The rpm noise that you hear that comes and goes could be your air conditioning unit turning on and off to circulate the chemical in the unit. This prevents the chemical from going BAD (so to speak), so when you do use your air conditioner it is ready to supply the colder air.
There are a couple of reasons why a 2001 Audi would make humming noises from the back while it is being driven. The first thing to check is the tires. If the tires are fine, check the wheel bearings.
Have the same troubles with a used 99 I bought..Gives me a damn headache! Checkes out perfectly..But I may have to sell cause I just can't stand the noise..Wierd vibration that I just can't find..They have a history of bearing problems..But mine checked out fine..Good luck with yours I'm out.
There are a few things that can cause a clicking.. first is valve tapping which is when the valves become a little loose and the noise you hear is when the gap is taken up and the metal taps, second is that the bearings in your water pump may be starting to fail, and third might just be that your belt has a bad spot and clicks as it passes a certain pulley.
