To answer this requires knowing which of the following is the problem * The engine does not crank when the key is turned. * The engine cranks but does not start If the engine does not crank, it's likely a problem with the battery, fuses, starter or switch behind the ignition key.

If the engine cranks but does not start the problem is likely with no fuel or no spark. The spark can be checked by inserting an insulated screwdriver into the #1 spark plug connector. (The #1 spark plug is the one furtherest from the distributor. We use this wire because it's the longest and thus easiest to place.) Hold the screwdriver by the insulated handle and place the exposed metal shaft about 1/4" or 5mm away from an exposed metal piece. You should see a spark if the ignition system is working. If there is no spark read the answer to the "Camry has no spark" question.

The fuel pump is the most likely failure in the fuel supply. (An injector failure will cause poor performance rather than a no-start condition.) The fuel pump normally runs only when the engine is turning. This can be bypassed by jumpering two connections in the diagnostic connector on upper passenger side of the engine compartment. Search online for a diagram of the proper jumper position. (A bent paper clip makes a perfect jumper.) Once jumpered you should hear the gentle flow of fuel through the hoses on the top of the engine.
