Can you take a dash from a newer silverado like a 1996 and put it in a 1994 silverado?

It is possible, but there is a large difference in the dash/wiring/etc. Besides the dash, the wirhing harness for the dash as well as the harness for the motor and the radio harness will need to be changed.

I bought a 1994 silverado dash cluster, to put in my 1990 silverado because i was told it would fit. I took the old one out, and was going to put the 1994 silverado cluster in, but the plug in the back was not the same, but I have been told several times that it would work, so i am not sure, perhaps the plug can be changed With the first answer, im not sure about the plugs. But everything else from an 88-98 interchange so i don't see why it wouldn't

I have a 96 grand cherokke limited but Im guessing they are in the same spot... its under the dash just to the left of the steering column.. you will have to remove the lowest part of the dash to get to the screws holding it in place.. once the plastic is out of he way there should be the metal support for the dash. its on the other side being held there by four screws... it should have 3 plugs going into it one on the botom and two on th eback facing away from you
