The accessory wire may have become disconnected. 99% the accessory is the red wire next to the yellow wire.
I have the same problem with my excursion.It happened after the battery went dead.The dialog in the forums points at the battery saver relay.I'm still looking for more info

Sorry to tell you this - but - if it is the original equipment clock that was built with the car, the chances are 99% that the clock has burnt out. Those clocks were equipped with Liquid Crystal Diodes which have a finite life to them. If the clock is now dark, the odds are greatest that the clock has simply come to the end of its life and needs to be replaced.
Owner's manual. The person who posted the above is a wise guy. We all come to the internet for answers when we cannot get them ourselves. If I had an owners manual available, that would have been my first source to set the correct time. When I find out the answer I will post it.
the power switch in the radio is bad if you can find the power ant. lead coming out of the radio and apply switched 12 volts to it the radio will come on with the key. when you don't want to listen to it justturn down the volume I used to replace many of these switches in the mid 90's good luck

If the clock is in the radio it shouldn't stay on it should go off when you shut the ignition off.... it could come on when you press the bottom left knob in on the radio the the clock appears for about a minute and then should shut off

go to radio shack or auto parts store and get what looks like heavy gage wire (2 of them come in a pack) it is a radio removal tool. insert them into the holes on the face of the radio and push them in until they wont go any farther. that releases the lock then you should be able to pull the radio out

Grab an adjustible wrench and turn it (Left). It should come right off.
Where the slope is steep the contour lines will come close together.
