You have have Limewire 4.8.18 (or whatever it is) or older. This was happening to me, then I uninstalled that version and downloaded Limewire 5. It now words fine. Hope this helps. Make sure you're connected to the internet as well.
Not at all, Limewire is a file sharing program which scans the internet for music, video and picture files ect. it just cut out the looking which saves a huge ammount of time. You will need to be connected to the internet.
