the tps or throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body on the opposite side of the throttle linkage
one day my 1988 jeep cherokee loredos rpms wouldnt come down i looked at the linkage and it was not accelerated so i reved the motor a little more and then the rpms came back down to normal but when i try to use the passing gear i have no response i have changed the kick down cable, the tps, the plunger next to the tps what else could it be?
try changing gears on the gear changer. nothing else change TPS
I do not believe there is such a thing as a tcu. there is an ECM (engine control module), and a TPS (throttle positioning sensor) TCU: Transmission Control Unit. On a Jeep Cherokee (not sure about the Grand Cherokee), it's located on the passenger side behind the dash. You can reach it from the bottom without removing anything, but it is easier of you remove the bottom of the dash.
Its possible that it is the TPS sensor (throttle position sensor)easy to replace yourself and available at your local parts store. It could also be a transmission issue, change the fluid and filter, but start with the TPS sensor its a common problem and cheaper solution
It is not adjustable.

It is on the throttle body opposite of where the cables hook on.
Three wire sensor on the throttle body.
Replace the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).
online auto parts supplier.
The tps (throttle position sensor) would be found on the throttle body, opposite side where the throttle cable is connected.
I just had the same readings on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I was told that the injector circuit cylinders are open ex. p0202 would be cylinder 2. But I was also told these may be false codes due to the tps sensor. Did you also get a p0121?
You don't adjust it. You buy a new one and replace it.
They both feed the computer. They both feed the computer.
soundsl Ike the TPS on the throttle body is bad or the MAP sensor is bad. probably tps.
In most cases the TPS (throttle positon sensor) is located at one end of the throttle plate shaft. The throttle cable/linkage is attached on one side of the throttle plate shaft and the tps is attached to the other side.
