Absolutely! Beware, however, that you will probably get unwanted feedback from the amplifier if you are using an electric/acoustic guitar. Acoustic amplifiers have circuitry built into them to help negate feedback.

Electric guitars were not generally designed to plug into anything to make them powered. It is a lead that is required to send the signal from the guitar pickups to a powered amplifier. Having said that, any electric device can be plugged into any socked based on the power input required by that device. Plugging any device in an outlet with a different power output requirement may damage or destroy the device.

Electric guitars may have narrower necks and the action height is usually closer to the neck. Action can be adjusted in electric guitars. As far as I know, all electric guitars have steel strings with varying thicknesses for flexibility. Some acoustic guitars have nylon for the same purpose.
