No. The amplitude doesn't affect your selection of the station.
With any radio that's capable of receiving several stations, and which provides
the means for you to select the one you want, the selection is made based on
the frequency (wavelength) of the waves.
If you use a hand-held "hikers" GPS receiver, or one in your car or on your 'smartphone' ...
the more satellites those receive at the same time, the more accurately they can calculate
your position. Some are able to receive and process as many as 18 satellites all at the same
time ... and each on a different frequency !
