Could either be a bad starter drive or a bad tooth on the ring gear/flywheel Try turning the engine manually (large socket on crankshaft) and see if it starts without grinding. If so, probably a bad tooth. If no change probably a bad starter drive

Lots of things could do this, none of them good. It might be a bad balljoint, tie rod end, Power Steering pump, constant velocity (CV) joint, rack & pinion, steering box, etc. All can be serious safety issues, and some more costly than others.

Regardless, you need to have your favorite mechanic diagnose this 'hands on' sooner than later. It will likely only get worse (and therefore, more expensive) over time.

The most common problem is that the cv joints are worn but could also be a wheel bearing. If it is the wheel bearing the noise will be constant if it is the sv axle then its most common time of hearing it will be when you turn and it may even bind up on sharp turns.

What can cause a grinding noise in the front end as you drive down the and as you turn the steering wheel you hear a grinding noise?

Had same problem with mine, if you turn right and it grinds, the left hub bearing is going out and vice versa. The weight of the truck is placed on the bad bearing the opposite way you turn. Should sound like a grind but it is a consistent "noise""quiet""noise""quiet".

You heard a grinding noise when you would turn and you filled up with power steering fluid but you still hear this noise - What could this be?

I would guess that it is the wheel bearing. is it a grumbling sound or an all out grinding? If it is or was a grumbling sound and has turned into a grinding it is probably the wheel bearing.

What would cause a grinding noise from the rear-end of a 1997 Toyota Rav4 all wheel drive the noise happens mostly when turning corners is it the rear diff or hub bearings?

If it happens only when turning corners, this is likely to come from the differential. A ball bearing problem would make noise all the time.

Would wheel bearings make a grinding noise?

Has anyone had a similar experience of a grinding noise under the dash when the turn signal is on in a 2000 Audi A6 and the mechanic suspects the problem is the hazard relay switch?

The hazard relay is the turn signal relay as well. The grinding noise is actually the relay buzzing trying to engage. Mine made the noise occasionally and now the turn signals do not Work at all. TIME TO REPLACE THE RELAY.
