What is caca fuego that sir francis drake found?

It was the name of a Spanish ship he captured.

Where did Sir Francis Drake explore on his journeys?

Sir Francis Drakes' first voyages were slave trading expeditions to the West Indies. He then sailed around the world beginning in 1577 and landing in Brazil, Tierra del Fuego on the tip of South America, the island of Cano off Mexico, a place he named Nova Albion, which may have been northern California or Vancouver Island, Canada. He then headed out into the Pacific Ocean, passing by Indonesia, the Indian Ocean, and the Cape of Good Hope back to Plymouth, England.

What was Francis drake education?

Francis Drake received some education and later in life he learned basic navigation on a ship. In 1567 John Hawkins (1532-1595) made Drake an officer in a larger slavetrading voyage. Drake ultimately was given command of one of Hawkins's ships, the Judith, and accompanied his relative to Africa, Rio de la Hacha, and Santa Marta (a port on the coast of northern Colombia). The English were caught, however, in the harbor of San Juan de Ulúa (an island near Veracruz in eastern Mexico) by a Spanish fleet that opened fire without warning and destroyed most of their ships. Only Drake's Judith and Hawkins's small vessel escaped to England. Angered by this, Drake decided to devote his life to war against Spain.By 1576 England's relations with Spain had worsened. Drake returned to England, where a new expedition (a voyage made for a specific reason, such as to discover a new route or area) was being planned and in which Queen Elizabeth (1533-1603) had a financial share. Drake's main instructions were to sail through the Strait of Magellan (a narrow waterway in the southern tip of Argentina) and probe the shores of Terra Australis Incognita, the great southern continent that many thought began with Tierra del Fuego. Drake received five ships, the largest being the Pelican (later named the Golden Hind ), and a crew of about 160.

Why did Sir Francis Drake want to explore?

Sir Francis Drake was an English pirate, famous for sinking Spanish ships. His greatest claim to fame was leading several attacks against the Spanish and, as vice-admiral in command of the English fleet, he was instrumental in defeating the Spanish Armada as it attempted to invade England. He was a skilled seaman, and this skill was put to use later.Drake's other major accomplishment was that he was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the world. On this voyage, undertaken between 1577 and 1580, he discovered that Tierra del Fuego, to the south of the Straits of Magellan, was not part of a southern continent (then thought of as Terra Australis, but not to be confused with the later Terra Australis which became Australia). The belief that the lands were connected had limited sea exploration, but Drake's discovery that Tierra was an archipelago later led to the realisation that ships would be able to sail around the bottom of South America, south of Tierra. This became the Cape Horn route which was ultimately discovered in 1616, though not by Drake.During this voyage, Drake also discovered that Java was not part of the southern continent that it was previously thought to be, but an island. He also took tobacco and potatoes back home with him.
