You would have to be able to reprogram the engine computer.
If it is gray, then yes.
nope. comes right out. only jeep has alarm. CANT USE IT UNTIL YOU ENTER THE CODE
I'm getting ready tomorrow to replace my 92 Cherokee computer and it better not need dealer input .from what i understand it has a chip builtin .that chip should be programed for this vehicle besides you have to get exact replacement computer based on it id numbers .each computer is preprogramed for the particular emissions and componets on the vehicle .i know this isn't a answer but more a observation. i definetaly will know more tomorrow and if you don't hear fro m me i was right to begin with .don't forget to vote for the nonracist runner.
Sounds like either you are using a door key which does not have the anti-theft chip in it, or the anti-theft chip in your ignition key has lost its programming. You can but the keys online (Ebay and such) for much, much cheaper than at the dealer, but you will have to take the keys to a dealer to have them programmed. I think the programming costs somewhere around $30.
i need help to install performance chip direct chip on my 02 Nissan frontier super charge
There is no replacable "chip". You would need to replace computer.
Go to a high performance shop, and see if you can buy a chip to replace the one from factory.
You have to get an aftermarket chip
No.
You can upgrade your grand Cherokee 2005 performance by introducing a new Performance Chip to increase MPG.
You buy what is called a Performance Chip. These range from 250-500.
You can not. The "alarm" is an integral part of at least three computers on the Jeep. The pcm (engine), bcm (body functions), and the skim (chip key system).
If it is gray, then yes.
put a performance chip in the computer
It is in the ECM and not removable. You'll need to buy a performance chip.
You have to get a new ECU chip. Superchips tuning also has a package to "roll your own" if home tuning is you thing.
The 1996 Jeep computer doesn't have a changable "chip". The computer can be updated by a dealer, or by some after masket scanners.
