I am not sure what you mean by jump, but if you mean raise then the best way is to remove the door panel and manually raise it. Pull the door panel and inspect the wires at the switch; all power goes thru this area and it is a common problem . It may just be a loose connection at the junction.
located in back window with rear defog
Hey Ron==This is a pretty big job and unless you are a pretty good mechanic I suggest you take it to an auto trim shop. The trim has to come off of the door then you have undoo the linkage that holds the window and there are very sharp places inside the doors. If you want to tackle it I suggest you get a manual that shows this repair. You will have it for the next repair. GoodluckJoe
It will bolt up, but it will not shift. 1997 is electric, 1994 is hydraulic
There is an electric motor that drives a geared pulley which is attached to a sliding bracket attached to the window. Most of the time the cable jumps off due to dry or binding window/channel. There are rubber spacers in the gear attached to the motor that deteriate in the heat and crumble. You can buy a new gear kit and replace it.
It is the Fender supercaster. It has 43 frets. and seven pickups. It was only offered in may, 1997. the higher strings were electric, the lower strings were acoustic. and it spit fire from the pick gaurd.

The remote won't open the back tailgate latch in 1997 gmc jimmy. I can't find owner's manual. How do you manually open the back window?
In the fuse box on next to the drivers side door
Could be the switch, or the motor itself on that window.
