First, there is no V6, but there is an I6, and the valves are non-adjustable. If you are hearing a ticking sounds, check for an exhaust leak, arcing plug, bomb, etc.

There is no adjustment. The ECM takes care of the timing with input from various sensors.

The distributor is zeroed with a scan tool, not a timing light.
