on my 01, i removed the battery and gained access that way. hope that helps.

Take it to a shop. It costs about $30.
# Disconnect negative battery cable # Detach the electrical connectors from the alternator # Loosen the alternator adjustment and pivot bolts and detach the drivebelt # Remove the adjustment and pivot bolts and separate the alternator from the engine # If you are replacing the alternator take it with you to auto parts store to get it tested to make sure it needs to be if you havent yet plus get core credit and make sure new alternator looks the same

the alternator is on top of the engine start by takin off the fan belt and then removing the wires conected to the alternator finally unbold the bolts holding it on and then take it off

well it sounds like you dont know how to do it so i would take it to the jeep dealer ship where is it located

To remove ours we had to go underneath and take it out that way. Once we got all the bolts out we had to take off the brackets to get it to drop out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Quite a PITA!!!
There is no such thing as a 2004 Cherokee....if you mean GRAND CHEROKEE then I don't know
battery is dead, alternator is blown, needs new distributor, blown engine, head gasket is out, could be a number of things, take it in to a mechanic
