youre asking the wrong question. what kind of guitar has the best sustain is what you should be asking. however strings that are tarnished and old will not old a note as long as a new set. ernie ball strings are renouned for their great quality. take it from me though. buy the 10 dollar packs that say "COATED" the 5 dollar ones tarnish in les than a day of full out playing. especially if you play outside hope this helps - Kyse
