Apparently only 1700 Gibson Les Paul Standards were made in 1959. These Guitars are probably the most sought after guitars in the world, so if you have one, get it checked out for authenticity. If it's an original it could be worth upwards of £200000

Yes, He was married to Bobbi Patterson Gibson of Shelby N.C.
Just a few early ('82-'83) made in Kalamazoo, perhaps 9 -13, with 4 knobs, to promote Gibson's "Made in USA, World played" ads. Shortly after the interest in them prompted Gibson to do a few more in Nashville (3 knob I believe) AND in Japan with Epiphone brand. There was a fairly recent run as well. The highly prized versions are the first few (of course!).
I don't know the total but in 1959 only 79 were made, in 1960 315 were made and in 1961 none were made. My source runs out at that point. My dad bought one in 1959 for $110.00 he still has it. Hope this helps.
There are usually no mandolins in an orchestra.

this is a hard answer as Gibson owns so many companies but put simply if it doesn't say gibson on the headstock or epiphone it isnt straight up gibson. Fender Jackson any death metal shape by Dean , BC Rich , LTD and so on are a few brands that aren't gibson but make great guitars
