∙ 12y agoBrian May (lead guitarist) and John Deacon (Bass guitarist) were the two Guitarists in Queen, however all four of them could play acoustic. Freddie Mercury played acoustic in the song crazy little thing called love. Now of course its just Brian that plays in everything!

for the same reason any band has 2 guitarists. They can harmonize off each other and play different parts. In a live perfformance setting, during the guitar solo, having a second guitarist playing the rhythm section 'fills' the sound...otherwise it would sound empty.
