John Lennon appeared in four feature films as a member of the Beatles: "A Hard Day's Night" (1964), "Help" (1965), "Yellow Submarine" (1968) and "Let It Be" (1970). For the latter film, he and the other three members of the Fab Four -- Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr -- shared the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score. The Beatles also made a film for British television, "Magical Mystery Tour," which aired on BBC1 the day after Christmas in 1967.

He also starred in a movie without his band mates -- Richard Lester's satirical "How I Won the War" (1967).

After he met and married Yoko Ono, he appeared in many of her experimental film projects, including the 1968 short "Two Virgins," in which they both appeared nude.

Since Lennon's death in 1980, there have been numerous documentaries about his life and legend, including "Imagine: John Lennon" (1988) and "The U.S. vs. John Lennon" (2006).
