Before they made their first album Kill Em All, they played for people local a track called No Life till Leather. **************** Incorrect. No Life 'til Leather is not a song -- it was Metallica's first demo tape. The first Metallica song to be recorded was "Hit the Lights", before Kirk Hammett or Dave Mustaine had even joined the band. The guitar solo was played by non-member Lloyd Grant and the track was recorded for Metal Blade Records' legendary Metal Massacre compilation -- where Metallica had been credited as "Mettallica". The first line of "Hit the Lights" gave the No Life 'til Leather demo tape its title.
James Hetfield is the Lead Singer and Rhythm guitarist for the Heaviest band in the world, Metallica. Metallica makes it's origins in 1981 basically handing out demo tapes to get their name out. By 1983, Metallica had a studio contract. That contract is what is known as "Kill 'em All", A 10 track album that was produced when James was all but 17. With each album, Metallica started becoming a reckoned force in the music industry. But in 1991, The Black Album was released. This album showcased impeccable guitar playing and extreme vocals by James Hetfield. At the moment, Metallica is Touring in Australia. The did however, come to the states to perform at launch party for the Massive video game, "Call of Duty: Black Ops". Is there anything else you wish to know about James Hetfield or Metallica?
It was Ron McGovney, but he replaced after only one Album by Cliff Burton. Cliff was considered the original bass guitarist and was also inducted in the hall of fame in 2009 with Metallica even though he had died in a crash. God Bless Cliff and pray he is in Rock 'n Roll Heaven
Dave Mustaine NEVER sung a single word in Metallica, and only recorded their first demo "No Life 'Til Leather" The actual guitarist for Kill 'Em All was Kirk Hammet, but the riffs were written by Mustaine before he was kicked out of the band for being an alcoholic. James Hetfield definitely sung Ride The Lightning, as well as every other Metallica song.
